Before Vero Dawn
For 21 years, banks paid me to find the problems their reports said were already fixed.
I worked across banking and manufacturing, eventually reaching Audit Director. My job was to understand how businesses actually operated. Not how the process was supposed to work. How it really worked. Where risk was hiding. Where responsibilities were unclear. Where systems were failing people.
At the same time I was running businesses of my own, including real estate and land investing. So I learned to see business from both sides. From inside large organizations with complex systems, controls and risk. And from the owner’s seat, where every decision, inefficiency and missed opportunity feels much more immediate.

What is really happening?
Why is it happening?
What depends on this?
What happens if this fails?
Is the current solution actually solving the problem?
And has anything truly improved?

I did not want to only talk about AI. I wanted to build with it.
A business can automate the wrong process, build an impressive tool nobody wants to use, or assume the problem needs AI when it does not. That felt very familiar. The technology was new. The discipline of understanding a business before changing it was not.

Should we build this at all?
- Is this the real problem?
- Is there a simpler answer?
- Does the current process even deserve to be automated?
- Is the value worth the investment?
Build carefully
If we should, how should it work?
- What should AI handle?
- What should stay with a person?
- What information does the solution need?
- What should it connect to?
- How should someone actually experience using it?
- What would make it useful enough to keep?
A solution can technically work and still be unfinished. My standard is simple:
It should do what it was built to do. And it should feel finished.

Vero Dawn means true new beginning.
Not technology added for the sake of saying you use AI. An opportunity to question what has always been done a certain way, and to decide what should stay human, what a system should handle, and what becomes possible once the work is built around how the business actually runs.
